From Penzance in furthest south west, north along the Bristol Channel to Gloucestershire, east to Hayling Island, inland to Windsor in the east, and north to Oxfordshire.

And not forgetting the off-shore islands with no 7 Overseas (Jersey) Squadron … and a Guernsey squadron well on its way.

Six wings

Plymouth Cornwall, Devon Somerset, Bristol Gloucestershire, Dorset Wiltshire, Hampshire & Isle of Wight, and Thames Valley comprising Oxfordshire and Berkshire.


Ten Tors, annually on Dartmoor in Devon, with four wings fielding teams

Regional Activity Centres (RACs) at Boscombe Down in Wiltshire and St Mawgan in Cornwall

Qualified Aerospace Instructors Course (QAIC) at RAC Boscombe Down

Skiing courses in the Alps and Norway

Major air shows and public relations venues:

# Royal International Air Tattoo (RIAT) at RAF Fairford in Gloucestershire, over 500 cadets come to together annually to help the Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund and to enjoy fun and spectacular flying

# Society of British Aerospace Manufacturers (SBAC) at Farnborough, the international business showcase, alternate years 

# Bournemouth Air Festival, over 1 million spectators over four days, believed to be theUK’s largest free air display

Wing and regional bands, band camps and band competitions 

Region Activities Day, bringing together the best of all wings in aviation art, photography, aircraft and diorama models, foot drill and banner drill, media skills, public speaking, web sites

And not forgetting coastearing and canoeing with Jersey Squadron …….
