Arnhem Bound

Submitted by Flight Lieutenant Nigel Furlong, OC 2210 Cowley Squadron, Thames Valley Wing On 1st September 2016, 61 cadets and volunteer staff of Thames Valley Wing will travel to Arnhem in the Netherlands to participate in the 70th Anniversary Airborne March commemorating the battle for Arnhem in 1944 - made famous by the movie 'A Bridge too Far'. They will be hosted by the Dutch Armed Forces. On Friday 2nd September the group will pay there respects at the Oosterbeek War Cemetery and lay wreaths on behalf of the Royal British Legion and the Air Training Corps. The attached photograph shows Mrs Lorraine Whipp  passing a wreath to Cadet Singh of 2210 Cowley Squadron to lay at cemetery on behalf of The Royal British Legion, Littlemore Branch. On Saturday 3rd September the group will set out on the Airborne March with circa 30,000 other people. ENDS 2210Cowley2Arnhen@01Sep16
