ATC Sunday – Central Sector

Cadets and Staff from 2410 (Didcot) and 966 (Wallingford) Squadrons recognised the 75th anniversary year of the formation of the Air Training Corps this ATC Sunday by visiting the Fleet Air Arm Museum in Yeovilton.

23 Cadets and four Staff in total enjoyed a full day looking around the attractions including the historic story of  Naval aviation, the developments in Naval aviation in WW2, a simulated carrier experience and Concorde 002, a prototype test bed which lead to the only commercial jet airliner, amongst some of other trial aircraft.

Based at the RNAS Yeovilton, the Fleet Air Arm Museum preserves the Royal Navy’s aviation history, Its 90 aircraft are located in 4 halls its holds the largest European collection of naval aviation.

Cpl Owen said “it was a fantastic day out and well worth the travel, I highly recommend this trip to future cadets whether you are interested in aviation or not, there’s something for everyone!”
