Cpl Tim Moffoot from 381 Reading Squadron attended the camp for the first time, along with Cpl Ben Goodall, 150 City of Oxford Squadron, and Cpl Natasha Gavin, 211 Newbury Squadron, who returned again this year. The week involved master classes with RAF Regiment Band personnel, a couple of Ceilidhs which was run by one of the cadets, a choir and a brass ensemble. Saturday 21st February was the Concert at Whittle Hall at RAF Cranwell. The band played a variety of pieces from Marches like Great Escape, RAF March Past, to ensembles for well know musicals like Chicago and The Lion King. During the interval CPL Goodall conducted his small brass ensemble to entertain the crowd. Talking to him afterwards he said 'I was so nervous, but really pleased that I did it. I hope to get the chance to conduct again in the future'. The concert was attended by the Chief of Air Staff, Air Chief Marshall Pullford, and other local dignitaries. It finished with a rapturous applause and a fantastic rendition of Sky Fall. The Band recently recorded a CD in October called Stage & Screen which was being sold during the concert. Cost is around £8 and should be available through the RAF Benevolent Fund shortly. A total of twenty-six staff and cadets undertook the ACO's BASIC training which is designed to help them understand what is required of them as an over 18 year old cadet or as Civilian Staff Instructors. The course consisted of presentations and discussions including Safeguarding & Administration, and Health & Safety. Under the new 2 day Wing Induction Course training package, staff completed the Heartstart programme and Methods of Instruction (MoI) to provide them with the skills to return back to squadron to deliver the cadet experience. Finally, a further fifteen cadets undertook the Methods of Instruction training. The MoI training will equipment cadets to deliver presentations and lessons on the squadron. With just an assessment to go, these cadets will earn their lanyard as Instructor Cadets. Well done to all those staff and cadets that undertook the training.
