Second CMOI Course of 2011

The second Methods of Instruction Course for cadets was held at 1216 (Eastleigh) Squadron on Sunday 27 March.

Six cadets from units all across the Wing who have recently passed their Master Air Cadet exams came together to learn how to teach the cadets the subject they recently completed.

The day was spent learning how to deliver presentations and included sessions on the qualities of an instructor and lesson objectives. The day culminated in a practice 10 minute lesson.

The cadets will now return to their units and practice what they have learnt. When they feel ready they will be observed carrying out a lesson. On successfully passing this phase they will be awarded their yellow lanyard and become an instructor cadet.

Flight Lieutenant Pat Phillips, the senior course instructor said "These cadets now have the necessary skills to present a lesson and given a little practice they should all pass the observed lesson."
